Man Gets 60 Days For Threatening To Kill Police Chief

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) — A man who threatened to kill a Massachusetts police chief has been sentenced to two months in jail.

The Sun Chronicle reports that 48-year-old Robert Kelleher, of North Attleborough, was sentenced Tuesday to serve 60 days of a six-month sentence after pleading guilty to threatening Attleboro Police Chief Kyle Heagney.

Prosecutors say Kelleher was throwing things around the emergency room at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro in March when he told officers he wanted to kill the chief.

Judge Maureen McManus also ordered Kelleher to get a mental health evaluation.

Kelleher has already served about half of the sentence while awaiting trial.
