Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Allston

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Boston Police said an 80-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car on Commonwealth Avenue in Allston shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday.

They said the car fled the scene, but the driver is now in custody. The victim has not yet been identified.

Traffic was closed on Commonwealth Avenue between Harvard Avenue and Allston Street "until further notice." Police asked the public to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
