BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- New cars are coming to the Red Line in the near future, and Bostonians can get a look even sooner than that. MBTA GM Luis Manuel Ramirez said yesterday that the first of the new Red Line cars have been shipped from China and are on their way to Boston.
He added a mock-up of the new cars will be displayed for the public some time in the next few months. The new rolling stock is expected to enter the system next year, while new Orange Line trains are already being tested ahead of this fall's scheduled integration.
