BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Two teenage girls are recovering from serious injuries -- after the moped they were riding on collided with a pickup truck in South Boston.
It happened around 9 p.m. Thursday night on East 8th Street. A witness tells WBZ-TV -- the moped came down a side street from the Old Colony Housing complex when it collided with the truck.
Police tell WBZ NewsRadio1030 that both one of the girls was taken to Boston Medical Center and the other to Tufts Medical Center one with life threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed against the driver yet. It wasn't known if the girls were wearing helmets.
