BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- A total recall is now in effect for all boxes of Kellogg's Honey Smacks cereal. The company has voluntarily recalled all 15.3 oz. and 23 oz. packages of the cereal, and said no other cereals they make are affected.

The CDC and the FDA are investigating more than 70 illnesses across 31 states related to salmonella. The outbreaks occurred between March and May, with cases in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Anyone with a box of Honey Smacks should either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
