MEDFORD, MA (24/7 News Source) -- Firefighters are at the scene of a massive blaze in Medford. Officials say an auto shop on Mystic Avenue at Harvard Street caught fire around 10:20 Wednesday morning.
The Auto shop is near Interstate 93. Mystic Ave is closed in the area so is the Exit ramp from I-93 to Route 16. Thick black smoke can be seen billowing out into the air for miles and drivers are urged to avoid the area. Within minutes of their arrival firefighters were ordered off the roof -- the building has partially collapsed.
WBZ NewsRadio1030 has learned that one firefighter has taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but there is a business next door that contains flammable chemicals.
