BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Passengers at Logan Airport got a surprise concert Thursday, courtesy of the Boston Pops. A pop-up brass quintet gave travellers a sampling of what's to come on the Fourth of July.
"Nobody's going to listen to us for more than two or three minutes on the way to their flight," one of the musicians told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Bill Marcus. "So we have a huge folder of music, and we're just playing all the fun stuff that we have longed to do. We've played a little Super Mario Bros., we're gonna do a little Al Green now, a little classical music. All kinds of stuff that we've had in the folders for years, and people hear it as they go by."
Some of those passengers said the music had them regretting that they have to soon get on a plane and go home.
"I wish we could stick around," one woman said. "We would like to, it's a lot nicer out here than in Illinois."
