FALL RIVER, MA (WBZ-AM) A Bay State congressman says if Americans are serious about gun control, they have to clean house in November.

Congressman Joe Kennedy says that is offering thoughts and prayers and nothing more after the latest mass shooting offers nothing more when it comes to toughening gun laws.

He says he's convinced now more than ever, that Republicans will not take up the issue, no matter how many tragedies occur, and that's why Kennedy says it's now up to the voters.

“If sandy hook isn't going to force the issue, if Marjorie Stoneman Douglas isn't going to force the issue, if Santa Fe isn't going to force the issue, if Maryland is not going to force the issue, I don't know what does. At a certain point, if Republicans aren't going to help us change the gun laws, then we've got to change congress.” Kennedy said.
