Officials: 10 Displaced In Large Fire in Dorchester

BOSTON (AP) — Several people have been displaced in a fire that raged on a hot summer night.

Boston fire officials responded to a fire reported at 3 a.m. at an apartment building in Dorchester.

The three-story building's top floor and roof were engulfed in flames, causing about $300,000 in damage by the time the fire was extinguished.

Authorities say 10 residents were taken out of their homes safely, but cannot return to their homes. One firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital for undisclosed injuries but is expected to recover fully.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Temperatures in the city were in the 90s on Saturday.
