Holland Man Held Without Bail In Wife's Murder

HOLLAND, Mass. (WBZ-AM) -- A 75-year-old man is being held without bail on charges he murdered his wife one day after filing for divorce.

State Police found Janet Kastberg lying half in the trunk of her estranged husband Jonathan Kastberg's car, showing signs of violent trauma. When pressed, Jonathan gave police conflicting statements they said did not hold up, and he was arrested.

An investigation found that Janet had filed a restraining order against her husband, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2012 and had reportedly threatened her. Authorities also found he had filed for divorce the day before her violent death.
