SALEM, Mass. (AP) — A former employee of a Massachusetts city who exchanged child pornography with a New Hampshire man and plotted to meet an 8-year-old girl for sexual activity has been sentenced to up to seven years in prison.
The Salem News reports that 40-year-old David Holland, of Salem, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty last week to multiple charges including dissemination of child pornography.
The former Salem recycling coordinator was arrested in September.
Investigators say Holland, a married father, had agreed with a Nashua, New Hampshire, resident to trade access to children. They say the plot was discovered when the New Hampshire man's wife checked his phone and called police.
That man is awaiting trial on federal child pornography charges.
Holland told the judge he was "seeking to get better."
