Fire Destroys Vacant Building in Hanson

HANSON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- On the South Shore, a 3-alarm fire in a vacant building in Hanson is out -- but firefighters remain at the liberty street scene dousing hotspots.

Firefighters responded to the vacant building near the town center where it previously housed JJ’s Pub shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday requiring assistance from neighboring communities.

No one was hurt. The fire knocked out electricity to about 300 hundred customers in the area.

The cause and origin of the fire is unknown.  The State Fire Marshal's Office and Hanson Police are investigating the cause.
