Police: Man Leaves Dogs In 128-Degree Car

MERRIMACK, NH (WBZ-AM) -- Police in Merrimack, NH say that a  man from Westford, MA is facing animal cruelty charges after he left two dogs in a 128-degree car on Monday,.

Officers responded to a call of dogs left inside a car in the parking lot of the Merrimack Premium Outlets at 1:25 p.m. that afternoon.

Once they got there, they found two dogs inside the car with the windows cracked open.  While the temperature outside was 91 degrees, Police say in a release that a device was used to check the temperature inside the car which showed a temperature of 128 degrees Fahrenheit. 

The dogs were rescued from the car by animal control, taken to Merrimack PD in good condition and were later released to a responsible family member.

Shortly thereafter Police arrested the driver, Samuel Frackleton, 22, of Westford, MA charged with animals in motor vehicle (cruelty).

He was released on $1,500 Personal Recognizance Bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Merrimack 9th Circuit Court on July 12.
