WEST BRIDGEWATER (WBZ-AM) -- A driver was wounded after several bullets were fired through his SUV on Route 24 Southbound Monday evening.
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. near Route 106. At least two bullets hit the car. A window in the Saturn SUV was shattered, and the man was struck in the shoulder.
An East Bridgewater ambulance that was returning from a call was flagged down. The victim told paramedics that someone had opened fire on him from another vehicle. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.
Several drivers had stopped to assist the victim, and traffic was backed up as police investigated.
There is no word on a suspect vehicle, or a description of the shooter. State Police are investigating, and aren't yet sure if the shooting was random or a targeted attack.
