House Struck By Lightning In Millis

MILLIS (WBZ-AM) -- A lightning strike caused a house fire in Millis early Wednesday morning.

It was around 4:45 a.m. when Millis firefighters were called to respond to a fire on Pleasant Street. When crews arrived, they saw smoke rising from the roof.

Firefighters were at the scene for about three hours. Damage was contained to the second floor, bathroom, and attic. Nobody was hurt.

Medway and Norfolk Fire also responded to the scene. Damage was estimated at around $100,000.
