Large Crowds Prompts Build-A-Bears To Close Lines Nationwide

BOSTON, MA -- (WBZ-AM) -- A Build-A-Bear- promotional event causing chaos across the United States, Canada and United Kingdom, forcing  to close their lines on Thursday.

According to their facebook page and website they have suspended their "Pay Your Age" event due to "unprecedented response," they say.

"**Urgent Alert: Lines Closed for Pay Your Age Day Event Per local authorities, we cannot accept additional Guests at our locations due to crowds and safety concerns. We have closed lines in our U.S. and Canada stores. We understand some Guests are disappointed and we will reach"

Craig Bradley in Glascow, Scotland tweeted this photo waiting in lines for 6 hours.

The bears typically retail for about $25 each upwards to $100, however in their promotion the company said that a 1-year-old could get a bear for just a dollar. The company said that it understood that some Guests were disappointed and would reach out directly as soon as possible.
