Two Firefighters One Person Injured in Everett Fire

EVERETT, MA (WBZ-AM) - A fire in Everett sends two firefighters and one person to the hospital after a fire blazes through a home on Morris street in Everett.

Their conditions are currently unknown.

Fire officials tell WBZ NewsRadio1030 that the fire at the home started in the basement shortly before 2:00PM Friday. The State Fire Marshall's Office is Investigating what may have sparked it.

Mitchell Donnelly lives across the street and tells WBZ NewsRadio1030 how he responded to screaming and got a garden hose and started to extinguish smoke for three seconds more or less before firefighters showed up.

'I heard a loud pop...then I heard the smoke detectors go off and I thoug heard someone screaming saying someone is stuck on the third floor, there's somebody stuck on the third floor...so what I did I called then ran over to the neighbor house where they had a hose running ... the basement was fully engulfed in flames by the time I got water on it the fire department was already here doing their thing," Donnelly said.
