BOSTON (AP) — Kids in Boston, Worcester and other Massachusetts cities will get to splash around in the pool a little bit longer for the next month.
State officials say eight state pools and two spray decks managed by the Department of Conversation and Recreation will have extended hours on Thursdays as part of the "Summer Nights Initiative." The pools and spray decks are in Boston, Brockton, Lawrence, Lowell, New Bedford, Springfield and Worcester.
Officials say they will be open on Thursday until 7:45 p.m. in July and until 7:30 p.m. in August.
The initiative also provides additional programs for kids in the summer months, such as basketball, dancing and arts and crafts.
