NightSide with Dan Rea – Rundown for July 17, 2018

Trump Backtracks.   Tuesday, President Donald Trump said that he misspoke when dismissing allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.  "I said the word 'would' instead of 'wouldn’t.'  The sentence should have been, 'I don't see any reason why I wouldn't, or why it wouldn't be Russia."  This all after Monday when President Trump openly questioned the U.S. government’s assessment that Russia interfered with the 2016 presidential election, saying he doesn’t “see any reason why” Russia would be responsible.  Marisa discusses the President’s comments and if this was just a reaction to bipartisan condemnation.  Call the show and join the discussion!

Eliminating Time-and-a-Half. Last month, Governor Baker signed a bill that will create permanent sales tax holiday, increase the minimum wage over the next five years and create a new paid family and medical leave program in Massachusetts.  The Act also gradually eliminates the existing time-and-one-half premium pay for retail workers on Sundays and certain holidays.  Marisa will be joined by lawyer John Tocci to discuss the bill signed by Governor Baker.  Do you lose your premium pay?  Is the tradeoff worth it? Listen tonight and join the conversation!
