EAST BOSTON (24/7 NewsSource/WBZ-AM) -- A man wanted for being a serial graffiti vandal in the Boston area is in custody after his arrest in East Boston.

Marc Meadowcroft, 20 of Revere, was arrested Monday after a brief foot chase. After a judge learned there were warrants for Meadowcroft's arrest all across the city, he was ordered held without bail, and will face charges of vandalism in Boston Municipal Court.

Meadowcroft was wanted on multiple warrants for vandalism and for violating his probation. He was arrested for tagging in 2015, and at that point agreed to stop tagging MBTA property or risk a possible jail sentence.

Outside East Boston Court Tuesday, Meadowcraft's frustrated mother told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens that her son needs help.

"I understand that he needs to, almost like he needs to get his art out there, I get that, or he needs to do something," she said. "But he has to do it in a productive way, use that energy in a productive manner, not destroying people's property."
