BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- That's right--fourteen years ago today at Fenway Park, the Red Sox and Yankees stoked the flames of their rivalry once again when Bronson Arroyo hit Alex Rodriguez in the elbow, Jason Varitek intervened as the two mouthed off, and Rodriguez challenged him and then got a mouthful of mitt from Boston's catcher.

Both benches and bullpens cleared, players bled, the Sox ultimately won an 11-10 slugfest behind a Bill Mueller walk-off homer, then the club then used that moment to spark a run to their first World Series title in 86 years.

The names and faces have changed, of course, but Boston and New York are once again two of the top teams in all of baseball, with an exciting autumn ahead.
