BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) --Police have made an arrest in the unsolved murder of a young man from Westminister, MA
Worcester District Attorney Joe Early announced Tuesday that Julia Enright, 21 of Ashburnham, MA was charged in the death of Brandon Chicklis,20, in late June.
Chiklis had been missing for more than two weeks when his body was found by the side of the road by a jogger in Rindge, New Hampshire on July 10. Investigators believe Chiklis was killed in Ashburnham, and his body dumped in New Hampshire Early said.
Police later searched a pond in Ashburnham, Mass near where Enright lives in connection with the investigation after they were able to trace Chicklis cell phone records. Police say that Chicklis blood was found on the stairs to a tree house, underneath and inside of it.
According to Early Enright and Chiklis knew each other. Both had been classmates at Montachusett Regional Technical School.
Julia Enright who was arraigned Tuesday in Gardner now held without bail. She is set to return to court on August 29.
Family members have set up a GoFundMe fundraising page to help cover funeral expenses for Chicklis who would have turned 21 on Tuesday.
