Two Dead After House Fire in Merrimack, NH

MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) — Firefighters in New Hampshire say two people have been found dead in a house fire.

WMUR-TV reports firefighters say two in their 80s were found dead in the Merrimack home early Tuesday. One was found in a bedroom, and the other was in the kitchen next to a sliding door. An autopsy was scheduled.

The state fire marshal's office and Merrimack authorities are investigating. Fire Chief Michael Currier said they were notified of the fire when someone knocked on the door of a substation saying they could smell smoke.
