BOSTON (24/7 NewsSource) -- Governor Charlie Baker is proposing changes to a recently passed bill that would regulate Airbnb and other short term rentals.

Baker is proposing that homeowners who rent their properties for less than 14 days a year be exempt from tax and insurance requirements. Since the governor acted after the end of the formal legislative session, lawmakers must approved the changed bill or call a special session to rewrite it. Supporters of the bill in the legislature say they are exploring their options.
