Basketball Tournament To Honor Marathon Bombers' Victims

BOSTON (AP) — Law enforcement officers are squaring off on the basketball court this weekend to honor victims of the Boston Marathon bombers.

The annual Boston Strong Invitational Basketball Tournament is being held Saturday and Sunday at the Rockwell Cage gymnasium at MIT.

The event honors the victims of the events in April 2013, including MIT Police Officer Sean Collier, who was fatally shot, and Boston Police Officer Dennis Simmonds, who was who died a year after he was wounded in a confrontation with the bombers.

Teams from Massachusetts State Police and other law enforcement agencies will be participating.

There will also be six youth teams coached by troopers and officers from Boston and other agencies.
