ACTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- One man person was seriously injured and transported to Mass General Hospital after an explosion and small fire at a manufacturing facility in Acton Wednesday.
It happened at Haartz Corporation facility in Acton on Hayward Road at 10:25 a.m.
Bob Vanderhoff, Acton Fire Deputy Chief, said that their first priority was to deal with the man with serious injuries and then they focused on the fire.
"The fire was then quickly extinguished by the companies arriving with a little bit of extension getting to the second floor of the complex that was check and also extinguished," he said.
No word on the condition of the man who was injured or what caused the explosion and fire.
Vanderoff said fighting the fire was tough for the crews because of the hot weather.
