Teens Defy The Heat in Acton

ACTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- On a ridiculous hot day in Acton, the T.J. O'Grady Skate Park on Hayward Road in Acton should be empty but for two 16-years-old Tyler Binnall and Tim Degrade are out.

Each of them riding on a little sliver of teenage sunshine -- riding their BMX bikes on the half-pipe in in the video above.

Not even breaking a sweat Degrade tells WBZ NewsRadio1030's Carl Steven the weather only bother them a little bit.

"I mean yeah [it's hot] but we just really like to ride our bikes, we want to be able to learn tricks and stuff. In the winter we can't really go out so we go out whenever we can,"

For Tyler, the heat was more than a minor speed bump on an adolescent road of joy buy Tim however, he had a little sweat going on.

" I wish it was a little bit cooler but I mean I'm not going to sit at home and do nothing you know?"

Both boys did agree that when it gets super and their tricks don't go perfectly as planned kissing the hot pavement and metal on the half-pipe ramp is a bit painful.

"When you fall shirtless it burns really bad and you have to jump up really fast said it's funny," Tyler said.

Why do they do it?

"Because it's fun" Both of them responded.

The limber sinew of youth can float through the fire of an August day is nothing more of reminder that some folks are kinda old and some are not.

WBZ NewsRadio1030's Carl Stevens reports.
