CAMBRIDGE, MA (WBZ-AM) -- The MBTA says engineering assessment and emergency repairs are continuing at the Alewife Station parking garage in Cambridge over the weekend.
In a statement the MBTA said it was closing the garage out of abundance of caution.
It's in response to a chunk of concrete falling on a car on Wednesday. As a result of the spot repairs, 500 parking spaces were temporarily unavailable Thursday and Friday.
Nearly 3,000 commuters park in the parking structure during the week.
