YARMOUTH, MA (WBZ-AM) -- A young boy in Yarmouth is lucky to be alive after getting into trouble in the water and being rescued by a good Samaritan.
The boy walked across the entrance to a private cove and into deep water unexpectectly.
Bill Bonnetti with the Yarmouth Harbor Masters Office says fast action prevented tragedy.
That someone was Dana Passante -- who was literally a lifesaver. Told her mother to call 9-1-1 then go in her kayak. Paddling as fast as she could and pulled the boy onto a jetty.
The boy was conscious and alert by the time EMT's arrived a short time later and took him to the hospital. taken to a hospital.
