GARDINER, MAINE (WBZ-AM) -- A woman whose body was found in the trunk of a car in Maine last week is identified as Maddilyn Burgess.

The man who police think killed her, Gyrth Rutan, committed suicide in front of a Maine State Police Tooper after being pulled over Thursday in the town of Gardiner.

Detectives searching Rutan's home in Stubridge found evidence of a crime scene. The Maine Medical Examiner says Burgess died of blunt force injuries.
