Artist Creates Giant Flower Display At Everett Bus Stop

EVERETT, MA (WBZ-AM) --- Some bus riders in Everett got a beautiful surprise Tuesday.

A bus stop on Broadway and School Street in Everett was flower bombed. Located in front of Braza Bar & Grill, the bus shelter is filled with various perennials.

It took Kristyn Price, a local artist and designer, about five hours in the rain Monday night to create the bus stop floral "pop-up"masterpiece.

"I get to do this work for weddings, private events or corporations but to put in in a public space where it's accessible to anyone is really exciting," Price said.

The Barr Foundation is working with the city of Everett to make public transportation more attractive. They commissioned Price, an award-winning floral designer, to flower bomb the bus shelter.

In 2016 the city of Everett launched a bus-only lane.

" I think it looks very nice, it's very pretty for the summertime, it's definitely a nice hop to your day something to bright it up a little bit," said a passenger waiting for the MBTA Bus.

Price tells WBZ NewsRadio1030 that the pop-up exhibit will be up for two days.

WBZ NewsRadio1030's Carl Stevens reports.
