BROCKTON (WBZ-AM) -- A Brockton auto body shop is offering a reward for any information about the person who took one of their dump trucks for a joyride, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Fran Fistori, owner of Modern Auto Body, told WBZ-TV he got word early Monday morning that one of his dump trucks crashed into a fence at his business a little before 3 a.m. It wasn't until he checked the surveillance video that he saw what happened.

"I found that the guy had stolen the truck, taken it for a ride, and brought it back," Fistori said.

In fact, he brought the truck back about 45 minutes later, and then walked away. Fistori said the suspect also tried to hotwire a front-end loader and an Army truck, making quite a mess.

"He smashed the window right out of the loader, got inside, tore up all the wires, tried to start it," he said.

Fistori told WBZ-TV the suspect appeared to know how to drive heavy equipment very well. He said other businesses have had similar incidents recently.

"Hopefully we can catch him, or at least make him stop," he said.
