BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Cordarrelle Patterson appears to be a lock to make the Patriots roster, in part because of a thin depth chart at receiver, but he's also looked good in a pair of preseason wins with six catches for 89 yards and a touchdown.
The vet's enjoyed working with Tom Brady.
"Every chance to get out there with Brady, I just gotta make sure I'm lined up right, doing everything I need to do, showing him I'm trustworthy," Patterson said.
One guy who certainly has Brady's trust is Rob Gronkowski, and he has thoughts on how others can earn it too.
"Tom as a quarterback, going into his 18th, 19th year, whatever it is, I mean, clearly he has a resume of how he wants it done," Gronk said. "You gotta go out there and you gotta perform it like that, and definitely telling younger guys, newer guys that come in, that you wanna listen to Tom, you wanna listen to the coaches, how the routes should be ran. You wanna go out there, and you wanna execute them. If you're not on the same page, then stay after practice, do extra reps in between practice, all that type of stuff, to get the chemistry down more."
Patterson said he's not putting too much pressure on himself, but knows he has plenty to work on.
"Getting into, out of my routes, finishing my routes, blocking better, knowing all my assignments," Patterson said. "I feel like each and every week it's gonna be things you need to work on. It's never going to be perfect, but you just gotta go out and keep competing and just show 'em you're worth it."
