BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Four Massachusetts cities made SafeWise's third annual "Safest College Towns" report.
Brookline was ranked #1 in the country, with Wellesly ranked #5, Newton at #7, and South Hadley at #34.
"What really stood out to me is that these are not just safe college towns, but safe college campuses as well," said SafeWise security analyst Rebecca Edwards in a release. "Almost every college reported even lower violent crime rates than the cities--and that says a lot."
