ORANGE COUNTY, Florida (24/7 NewsSource/WBZ-AM) -- Two people are dead in Florida after a fatal construction accident near Walt Disney World this morning.

Orange County Fire Rescue tweeted that workers at a hotel under construction were on a scaffold between the sixth and seventh floors. Fire Rescue spokesperson Mike Jachles told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that the hotel is just outside Disney property in an unincorporated area in Orange County.

Shortly before 4:15 a.m., a scaffold gave way and two workers fell to the ground and died at the scene. A third worker hung on and managed to climb to safety, suffering minor injuries.

There were about 18 workers at the scene at the time. Jachles said the cause of the collapse wasn't yet known, and said the Orange County Sheriff's Office and OSHA will be conducting their own investigations.
