Man Who Fled Police In Haverhill After Traffic Stop Captured

HAVERHILL, MA (WBZ-AM) -- State Police have confirmed with WBZ NewsRadio1030 that a suspect who fled a traffic stop near Interstate 495 and Route 97 in Haverhill Wednesday morning has been captured. 

Massachusetts State Police say that Elias Sudler, 27, of Boston was was arrested in the Carlton Street area close to Haverhill High School has an extensive criminal record.

Because of the search many students at Haverhill High School and the Consentino Middle School, who were supposed to have been released early because of the heat were held at the school. 

"Sudler is the subject of a July 10 indictment charging him with stalking and sexually assaulting a former romantic partner in Boston earlier this year and has been the target of an arrest warrant since then," said Jake Wark with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. 

He will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court at a later determined date.
