BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- In preseason football, starters don't play a ton--which is why Patriots receiver Chris Hogan believes a fast start will be necessary Sunday against the Texans in their regular season opener.
"That's always something that we stress every single week, and I think obviously this week, the level of excitement that the guys are going to have, the intensity that's going to be out there week one, starting fast is definitely a huge factor for us, and one of our keys we're going to stress throughout the week," he said. "We know as an offense, or as a team, the faster that we start, we can put ourselves in a better position."
One exciting factor--playing at home!
"Oh, it's awesome, anytime we get to play in front of the home crowd," he said. "I mean, they're such good fans, and their excitement and how loud they get when we're here, it's a game-changer, it's definitely a factor in the game."
Hogan heard his QB Tom Brady again stated his desire to play until he's 45. Does that surprise him?
"No, it does not, because he's the ultimate competitor," Hogan said. "
Here's hoping.
