BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- There's been plenty of chatter about where Tom Brady would throw the ball with such a thin receiving corps, but the future Hall of Famer never expressed concern, even with Julian Edelman suspended.

Patriots edged the Texans 27-20 to open the year in Foxborough. Brady--277 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. Rob Gronkowski and Phillip Dorsett each had seven catches--Gronkowski for 123 yards and Dorsett had 66--each with a score.

Brady completed passes to eight targets.

"We try to spread it around quite a bit, I think we did that at different times," he said. "Didn't get into the rhythm that we probably would've liked to get into, but we made enough plays. Gotta eliminate the turnovers, gotta do basically everything better, but it's still great to get a win and be 1-0."

Brady said--no excuses. There are high expectations for everyone.

"It's not like, 'Oh, this guy, this is what his level of expectation is, that's what we should put the team's expectation at.' Its, if you're playing in the slot, you gotta play as well as any slot receiver we've ever had," he said. "I think you can't coach and communicate and go, 'Oh, well, that's okay, 'cause you're not quite there yet.' I think you gotta coach hard, and you gotta correct guys and correct yourself, and have high expectations for yourself, and that's how you have high expectation for the team."
