WATCH: National Guard Member Rescues Woman During Flooding

QUINCY, MA (WBZ-AM) -- A Massachusetts National Guard Soldier is being credited in helping a driver after their car got stuck in a flooded Quincy street Tuesday afternoon

It happened on on Standish Avenue in Quincy as heavy rains flooded the city -- a woman was trapped in her car. 

Specialist Matthew Hernon, a recruiter with the Massachusetts National Guard 1058th transportation company based in Hingham came to the rescue.

In the dashcam video posted to Quincy Police twitter account you can see the woman crawled out out of the window and Hernon carried her to safety.

Quincy Police said that it served as a reminder to the public when driving during severe rain conditions to not drive through flooded roadways.
