BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Fall is coming, winter is coming, it's going to get cold says Senator Markey, and people need to know when gas service will be restored.
Markey is highly critical of the response from Columbia Gas following the gas explosions and fires in the Merrimack Valley.
Looking visibly annoyed as he told reporters outside his office in downtown Boston.
"Columbia Gas is making this up as it's going along," he said. The senator also stressed that cold weather is coming soon .
" Families are going to need hot water, families are going to need that heat at night, " he said "and right now Columbia Gas is not able to tell the people in Merrimack Valley when is that going to happen."
Markey accuses Columbia Gas of trying to hide behind a federal investigation, and not giving customers what they need. Both he and Senator Elizabeth Warren have sent letters to Columbia Gas, asking for answers to those gas explosions and fires that devastated parts of the Merrimack Valley.
Markey says Columbia Gas should "spare no expense" in making this right.
