HANSON, Mass. (AP) - Police in Massachusetts have arrested two juveniles they say caused $50,000 worth of damage to a home being built for a disabled veteran.
Authorities say the 16-year-old boys broke 24 windows and damaged three doors and lighting fixtures at the Hanson home last weekend.
The suspects were brought to the police station Monday by their parents. They were charged with vandalism and will be arraigned in juvenile court at a future date. No names were released.
The Enterprise reports that the home was being built by Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors for Paul Skarinka, a Whitman native and Army corporal whose left leg was amputated below the knee after he was injured in a rocket-propelled grenade explosion in Iraq in 2004.
