MBTA To Upgrade Red And Orange Lines By 2022

BOSTON (24/7 NewsSource) -- MBTA is moving forward with a 218 million dollar contract. Officials say the work will upgrade the train control signal systems on the Red and Orange Lines.

Once completed, the work will make it easier for MBTA to adjust track speed allowances and make repairs. The Red Line upgrades are expected to be done by December 2021, with the Orange Line work done by April 2022.
