Could Josh Gordon Become A Focal Point In Patriots Offense?

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Patriots trounced the Dolphins last weekend, and new receiver Josh Gordon had a pair of third-down catches for 32 yards in his New England debut. Bill Belichick liked what he saw.

"Josh has worked hard. He's a smart kid. He's got quite a bit of experience. Obviously played in a lot of different systems, different coordinators and so forth. So, I think one way or the other he's probably experienced things that we're doing in one of those systems that he's been involved in," Belichick said. "He's been able to pick things up quickly and has experience doing different things. So it's good to get him out there - we'll just see how it goes and take it week to week here."

Boston Globe NFL writer Ben Volin doesn't know if Gordon will be a primary target against the Colts tonight, but the receiver can help. "I think they're just looking at Gordon as a change of pace guy, a deep threat," Volin told WBZ NewsRadio 1030,
