BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Patriots have had extra time to rest since their week 5 victory over the Indianapolis Colts--but will they be able to hold off Pat Mahomes and the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs? Boston Globe NFL reporter Ben Volin checked in to talk about this week's match-up and other Patriots headlines. This week, WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Jeff Brown steps in for Adam Kaufman.
"This is by far their toughest matchup," Volin said. "No offense to the Texans or the Colts or the Dolphins, who the Pats have already beaten at home this year, but the Chiefs are a whole different challenge. Their offense is number two in the NFL in points. They're averaging 35 a game. Their young quarterback Pat Mahomes is taking the league by storm. The biggest arm in the NFL, can throw on the run, incredibly athletic. And then Tyrek Hill, probably the fastest player in the NFL. Travis Kelce, one of the best tight ends. Sammy Watkins, Kareem Hunt, a great running back. They just have weapons that can hit you from all different angles."
Brown and Volin also talked about the impact of Julian Edelman's return to the Pats lineup, what to expect from players like Rob Gronkowski, Josh Gordon, James White, and Sony Michel, Jason McCourty's work on the Patriots' defense, and more.
