WORCESTER (24/7 NewsSource/WBZ-AM) -- A firefighter running for state representative is no longer using photos of himself in his station gear.
Paul Fullen was criticized last week by the Massachusetts Democratic Party for using the photos, which showed him in front of city equipment, as part of his campaign ads. Fullen issued a statement over the weekend saying he didn't know he couldn't use his firefighter gear in photos, and he is working to fix it.
In addition, the Worcester Fire Fighters Local 1009 union released a statement saying the gear Fullen wore in the photos was not purchased using taxpayer funds, but by Fullen himself.
A complaint is still being reviewed by the state Ethics Commission.
