Officer Injured When Cruisers Collide During Pursuit In Concord

CONCORD (WBZ-AM) -- A Brockton Police officer was injured early Thursday morning when his cruiser collided with that of a Massachusetts State Police trooper as they both chased a suspect down Route 2.

That officer suffered minor injuries in the crash, State Police said.

The pursuit began around 12:50 a.m. in Randolph, when Brockton Police broadcast that they were chasing a car due to "motor vehicle violations." State Police soon joined the chase on Route 95, then on Route 2 westbound. The cruisers collided when the suspect left Route 2 at Exit 50 in Concord, and the police lost track of them.

Police later found the suspect vehicle abandoned in Lincoln, but could not find the driver after searching the area with K9 units.
