MARSHFIELD (WBZ-AM) -- Officials in Marshfield have issued a warning after some sewing needles were found in candy on Halloween.

When kids went out trick-or-treating around the Brant Rock area on Halloween, a couple of packages of Twizzlers had the needles in them. Marshfield Police posted a photo of the candy on their Facebook page Thursday.

Carol Keating's grandson got one of those packages, and spoke to WBZ-TV.

"It doesn't anger me, it frightens me," she said. "It really frightens me because, you know, this is a whole new world."

Police are investigating, and said that in the meantime, anyone who got any Twizzlers twists in their Halloween candy should throw them away and inspect all other candy.

There were several other incidents involving candy reported on Halloween, including in Oak Bluffs, where a nail was reportedly found in a candy bar.
