ABINGTON, MA (WBZ-AM) — Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s challenger, Republican Geoff Diehl, spent some time at his favorite diner Tuesday morning before heading out to the vote. WBZ NewsRadio1030’s Kim Tunnicliffe spoke with Diehl about his election day tradition.

Every Election Day morning, Diehl heads to Martin’s Restaurant in Abington to grab breakfast before casting his ballot.

“Back in 2010 it was the place I came to grab breakfast before the election day. I’ve done it every election day since. I’ve been elected four times as state representative and hope today is the final lucky charm,” Diehl said.

Diehl is promising Massachusetts voters he will be a full time U.S. Senator if he is elected. He says incumbent Sen. Warren has her head somewhere else.

“She doesn’t want to be the Senator, she wants to run for the White House,” Diehl said. “I’m going to give six years working as hard as I can every day for the people of Massachusetts. I won’t be splitting my time as a part-time author, a part-time presidential candidate, a part time Senator.”
