BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — One of the NFL’s all-time great quarterbacks, Payton Manning, retired from football after the 2015 season. But, he has found some things to keep him busy.
Manning is friends with Celtics’ head coach Brad Stevens, a friendship that dates back to Steven’s coaching at Butler and Manning playing for the Colts.
Manning met up with the team to discuss his experience learning and growing from playoff losses before eventually winning a Super Bowl in 2006. He even sat and reviewed film with them to prepare for that Monday’s loss to the Nuggets.
Celtics’ assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry told reporters that although Manning did not fully grasp what he was watching, it was clear how much he enjoyed being back in that competitive environment.
