Trump said the victory came at a "terrible cost" to allied forces that fought and died in the war.

French President Emmanuel Macron warned against the dangers of nationalism in a speech aimed directly at the rising tide of populism in the United States and Europe.

The visit by President Trump comes a day after cancelling a planned trip to a another cemetery for Americans killed in World War I due to bad weather.
